Can't touch this...

Here's what Michele so aptly observes over at her blog "A small victory" about the events of the last few days in America in a post called "hammer-time":

"We're falling apart at the seams.
The economy is tanking, the Democrats are self-imploding, war is coming, and Vince Neil and Emmanuel Lewis are living together.
We are living in a parody show. Or a bad sit-com or dramedy or whatever they call those shows that are part funny, part drama but usually end up being dramatically unfunny. In this week's episode, Sen. Torricelli drops out of his bid for re-election and hilarity ensues as Bill Clinton has one week to sell his digs in New York, move to New Jersey, establish himself as a resident there and put in his bid to take over Torricelli's spot.
Al Gore is self-destructing at an alarming rate. When I used to watch Small Wonder (and I only watched it so I could make fun of it), I would always wait for Vicki's tiny robot head to overload and then smoke would pour out of her ears and sparks would fly out of her eyes and her skull would pop off, showering her loving family with wires and conductors. It never quite happened that way, but I can see it happening to Al Gore. Just wait til he makes his state of the economy speech Wednesday night. Rumor has it he's wired to implode the first time he says lockbox. Rumor also has it that it's his own party that wishes Gore's head would just pop off in a cloud of smoke. That's one way to get rid of him.

I've been listening to conversations in grocery stores and 7-11's and the women's room at Chili's. Fights are breaking out over Iraq, and something's gone awry because party line has nothing to do with it. I know lefties who want to go to war rightnowthisveryminuteplease and I know righties who are ready to put flowers in their hair and buy Jefferson Airplane records and start throwing eggs at cops.

So says someone who makes it a point to listen to other "everyday people" and to her own fine mind.
I wasn't quite sure how to deal with all this until I read Michele's piece.
I thought the craziness, outrage and frustration I felt at the antics of the Left was just peculiar to me and a few pundits and policy wonks.
"These are the times that try men's souls"and the appellation "Hammer Time" suits it just as well as "Bananas time" or "Civil War 2."
I've never seen anything quite like those Dimocrats...first there was Gore bloviating--this is never easy to watch and one wonders if it was his own party or the GOP who urged him to "come out" again. He's just that bad or as Mark Steyn put it in his latest column, "turns out the guy who won the popular vote isn't popular."
Then we had SheWhoMustBeObeyed Streisand and her misspelled Fax, followed by her Big Concert to raise slush funds for the Dims--We hadn't heard from Baghdad Babs since Spring 2001 when she asked the "little people" in California to hang their washing on lines to help out Gov. Gray Out and his power shortage.
Clotheslines were noticeably missing Chez Streisand and Dr. Kiley.
Or course, before that there was Daschle being "outrageous" in the Senate--misstating the President, a pot calling a little kettle black and stalling the votes on everything from the War to Homeland Security to other opportunities to Bork Bush's fine Judicial nominees.
Yesterday the Torch (D,if I can't be a politico in NY, I'll do it in NJ) resigned from re-election run due to his exposed criminal activities, but did not resign from the Senate (yet), as would be proper. I've been hearing for at least 2 years all the way down here in Texas that the guy was a crook.
The latest buzz is that not only is AlGore threatening to give another attempt at a speech, but it's been discovered that ballots for the upcoming election for the Senate in Missouri have the parties switched for the candidates, listing Jean Carnahan as a Republican. Is anyone suprised? Remember how they got a judge to hold the polls open late that night of Election 2000 so "deprived" Missourians could vote (for Carnahan)?
And how could I forget? After Tommy Daschle's meltdown on the Senate floor, in which he accused President Bush of "politicizing" the War, we were also treated to 2 U.S. Congressmen, Bonior and McDermott--both of them DEMOCRATS--, practically calling our President a LIAR about Saddam--all live from Baghdad and on ABC TV no less. No politicizing of the War here. Move along folks.
You almost hate to hear or see what comes next, don't you? I know I do.
While this implosion couldn't happen to a "better" Party than the Donks, it's definitely NOT pretty.
We're getting "hammered" alright, not only by the indecision to wage the War on Islamists by our own Liberal Left, but also from the anxiety produced by Saddam himself (We know he's got bad sh*t or he wouldn't taunt those UN "weapons inspectors," the UN and us they way he does! We needed to roll on him yesterday.) but now watching the "other guys," i.e. the Dims, self-destruct is making us all totally crazy.
It's the world's longest and most awful car wreck.
I knew that they would only go kicking and screaming when they lost their Washington Power, but wasn't the Election 2000 controversy [a/k/a the Gore Coup Attempt] enough?
Apparently not.
They are on a true suicide mission and seemingly will not stop themselves until they have completely destroyed their party, its politicians, and any street creds they had with the American People. There's seemingly no turning back for them.
The real "hammer-time" is going to be the DNC getting hammered on Election Day.
But for now, Dim antics are making we want to get hammered. I won't, because alcohol abuse isn't my thing and I hope it isn't yours, but if other Americans choose to deal with it that way, I won't be too judgemental.
It's enough to make every American who loves their country cry.
