Iraqi anger over 'intrusive' inspectors Two senior Iraqi officials have reacted angrily after being held for several hours at a site in Baghdad that was sealed off and searched by United Nations weapons inspectors. Despite the fact that the behavior of both the Iraqis and the U.N. inspectors is a great Japanese Noh drama for the world's entertainment and means very little, this show of anger is more emotion than Saddam's régime can afford (if it's real.). Inspections "without conditions" was the order of the day and the UNSC and that means no backtalk from the Saddamites. As a public service, MSNBC now how has a countdown clock on the screen, counting down the days until Jan. 27th, when the final WMD report is due from Blix and his boys...If even peacenik-Lib central MSDNC acknowledges that the 27th is the day, Saddam better write his will or buy that airline ticket to Libya. And I feel cheated that we didn't get a similar countdown clock for Shopping Days until Christmas, don't you? |
