March 20, 2003Did we get Saddam? How about Uday?
Stocks Cut Losses as Saddam Rumors Swirl Stocks trimmed steep losses in late morning on Thursday as rumors swirled that Saddam Hussein may have been hit in an initial strike by the United States aimed at ousting the Iraqi president. Well, time will tell if we got the Big Butcher, but in the meantime, there's a report from Albawaba News to suggest that we may actually have killed the son, Uday the Sociopath: "Report: Saddam son suffers from brain hemorrhage" [I'd give you the link but I can't get there, the server's so overloaded, and you wouldn't be able to either.] Don't be surprised if the next report out of Araby is that Uday has "passed away" from this "hemorrhage." As I'm writing this, I can hear the beginning of what I think is the "Shock and Awe" air campaign on the TV--multiple sounds of bombardment, AA fire and Baghdad air raid sirens...
