Geraldo Denies Being Kicked Out of Iraq

Geraldo Rivera is denying reports that he's been kicked out of Iraq by U.S. military officials for giving out too much information about troop locations.

Reporting on the Fox News Channel, Rivera said he's actually further inside Iraq than he'd been before.

He was standing alongside U.S. troops in a building he identified as Iraq's ruling party headquarters in a city south of Baghdad.

Rivera said it sounds like the rumors that he'd been kicked out were spread by people he described as "rats" at NBC, where he used to work.

He said his rivals "can't compete fair and square on the battlefield" - so they try to stab him in the back.

But in the end, he insists, "quality journalism wins out."

Rivera said he has a "great relationship" with the troops in the 101st Airborne - and that he plans to "march into Baghdad alongside them."

Sources at U.S. Central Command have said that Rivera was asked to leave because he revealed tactical information.

[Too funny that the WaPo would consider Geraldo and his gig to be worth spilling any ink! We do live in the strangest times...]

If there's anything we've learned over the past 12 days, it's to distrust any "news" that comes from a "source"(always anonymous).
I kinda like old Whore-aldo!
He's so pathetically insecure, but in such a cute, sweet and endearing way...and he does have great hair.
Plus, I have an investment in him: to wit, those 97 hours I watched his "Secrets of Al Capone's Vault" show back in the late '80's.
I do believe that those "rats" at MSNBC/NBC are up to something, bitter that they had to dump Peter Arnett, and creating another scandal within the 4th Estate--particularly one involving one of their ex-talking hairdos--was an easy out from their day of shame.
Now, if only they could figure out how to fix their Gen. Barry McAffrey problem, their Chris Matthews problem and their Bryan Williams problem...not to mention their lingering Donahue problem.
Did MSDNC murder Nachman for being too professional a journalist?
