Bush Pokes Some Fun During Media Dinner
The President's enemies and the Left (which are certainly overlapping sets, if not congruent ones) are having a cow, because they say that his joking about not finding WMDs in Iraq wasn't appropriate.
Let me say here--and not for the first time--that Leftists have no sense of humor.
President Bush was mainly laughing at himself:
he made the jokes, because he can't believe we haven't found Saddam's WMDs in Iraq!
We know they were there.
Bush all but said to Tim Russert in that infamous interrogation when he was asked about our failure to find Iraq's WMDs, " I know. I can't understand why we didn't find them myself!"
One of these days, we *will* find out what happened to those WMDs; if we don't find them buried or destroyed in Iraq, they'll turn up in Syria, Iran or Saudi Arabia.
And those who hate Bush will now get on his case for anything, anything at all because they are consumed with hate for him!
I thought the Left would groan about this remark more than the others:

I am sorry Laura couldn't be here. And I'm sorry Secretary Rumsfeld is not here, either. The guy constantly surprises me. Do you know what Rummy's favorite TV show is? "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy." (Laughter.) My Cabinet could take some pointers from watching that show. In fact, I'm going to have the Fab Five do a make over on Ashcroft. (Laughter.)

The Lying Liberal Left is so convinced that AG Ashcroft (and Bush, too) is a homophobe that I thought this was hilarious!
All told, Bush was charming and very funny and if some people can't take a joke, too bad!
